Near Neutral descaling . Improving Paint performance in welding and laser cutting operations.

As consumer’s aesthetic preferences and demand for longer lasting products has increased in recent years, the need for manufacturers to improve paint coverage and corrosion resistance of welded and laser cut components has likewise increased. The formation of oxide scale from welding and laser cutting operations creates a barrier for optimal paint adhesion, necessitating its removal prior to paint application. Conventional scale removal methods can be effective but are often unsustainable, can pose severe HES risks and are not cost-effective. The most economical and efficient method for removing oxide scale is achieved through chemical descaling; however, along with the associated HES risks, traditional strong acid chemistries have high etch rates that result in short bath life and a difficult to manage waste stream. Innovations in near neutral pH descaling chemistries help minimize these risks while offering improved performance. Autonomous driving and power train electrification: 2 Megatrends in Automotive

About This Webinar The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global automotive industry has put an even higher focus on two megatrends: autonomous driving and powertrain electrification, and are re-shaping the future of the industry. Ambitions for autonomous driving (AD) indicate that long-term targets for AD remain a priority. The other priority is likely to be powertrain electrification for the time being. Latest CO2 emissions targets mean that new vehicles sold in Europe must continue to become cleaner or face steep penalties. Both megatrends are detailed on their impact on the electronics value and the resulting key trends and requirements for electronics systems. Agenda Advanced driver assistant systems & autonomous driving CO2 reduction Key trends and requirements Q&A Sven Lamprecht Director - OEM/EMS Technology Exchange Since 2007, responsible as Director for technology exchange between OEM/EMS companies and Atotech. Having an eleven years background at Atotech as Global Product Manager for final finishes used for various assembly techniques. Holding several patents in the field of electrolytic and immersion plating, and applications used in wet chemical PCB processing. Author of several papers and publications in the field of final finishes for PCB manufacturing. Being awarded for the best international paper “Phosphorous in Electroless Nickel Layers – Curse or Blessing” in 2004.
